Retro Gadget: An ode to my Game Boy Micro
by Jeromy on Jul.17, 2009, under Gameboy
The Game Boy Micro was Nintendo’s attempt at a Game Boy swan song. Released in 2005, half a year after the original DS had already hit store shelves, it was a strange sort of afterthought. Perhaps it was meant to replace the still remarkably selling Game Boy Advance SP. Priced at $89.99, however, it was a more expensive alternative, and had a smaller screen. Plus, the DS already played GBA cartridges, and the Micro couldn’t play Game Boy and Game Boy Color titles, something the SP could do. With disappointing sales, the Micro disappeared, its history paved over in 2006 with the release of an equally bright-screened DS Lite.

Gameboy Sculpting: “Bricking” Your DMG
by Jeromy on Jul.08, 2009, under Gameboy, Mods
Ever wanted to do something to your DMG besides paint it? Me too, so I busted out my sculpting tools today and some Aves Apoxie Sculpt and went to town. My original idea was to just do some red Mario style bricks, but in tradition of the DMG’s nickname “Grey Brick” I decided to do just that.
via Instructables
This guy refers to his Gameboy as DMG and say:
“The original Gameboy is Model number DMG-01. It stands for Dot Matrix Gameboy. In the game community we simply refer to them as DMG’s as apposed to ‘Original Gameboy’ or ‘Classic Gameboy‘”
I’ve never seen it referred to as “DMG” I think this guy is making shit up.

by Jeromy on Jun.22, 2009, under DS, Gameboy
The pouch is made up of different colored felt appliques which are hand sewn together to give it a more realistic and 3-D feel. Made exactly of the same size as the DS-Lite, with dimensions of 4” x 6 1/2”, the pouch provides the precise room for holding the DS-Lite. Also, the pouch has enough space to house some stationary, an iPod, your glares, a small digicam and many more stuffs.

Zelda: A Handheld History
by Jeromy on Jun.10, 2009, under Gameboy
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks looks set to be another fantastic entry into Link’s continued globe-trotting quests on Nintendo’s handheld systems. The sword-wielding hero hasn’t always kept to the familiar lands of Hyrule either, travelling through time and seasons, across waters and through uncharted worlds for 16 years now. And each new handheld incarnation of Nintendo’s classic franchise has proven that sometimes it’s good to break from tradition.
Rumor says DSi to get Gameboy, GBA downloads
by Jeromy on May.29, 2009, under DS, Gameboy
As we all know, the DSi cannot play Gameboy or Gameboy Advance games, due to the fact that the cartridge slot was removed. This gives Nintendo the opportunity to look “generous” by offering old handheld games as downloadable titles on the DSiWare Store. It’s ingenous, isn’t it? Nintendo fans will lap it up, claiming that Nintendo truly cares about the “core gamer” and Reggie Fils-Aime will be carried through the streets as a king.
